Carries Neil Brown out of the bush — May 2, 1969
During Operation Montana Raider in War Zone C (Tay Ninh province), an explosion was followed by a brief firefight in which PFC Neil Brown was killed. Top ordered Lee and Chuck Hustedt (Skull, 69) to carry Brown out through very thick bush. Lee and Hustedt did not know each other in-country; they discovered their shared role at the 1998 Charleston ASA reunion. (Source: Chuck Hustedt, Walking Point, June 2008.)
