CPL Kenneth Michael Flashner was killed in action on February 28, 1970, in Tay Ninh Province. The casualty record codes the cause as hostile, died outright — multiple fragmentation wounds, ground casualty. The 2/8th Cavalry had opened Firebase Mary Gwen (XT526796) just four days earlier, on February 24; Flashner was almost certainly at that position when he was killed. He had been in-country two months and twenty-one days. He was 23 years old. He is inscribed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Panel 13W, Line 68.
